Our Story

In 1979, Camping Miramare opened its doors to the public for the very first time, in a place that still appeared simple and almost barren. The vegetation had only just been planted and required constant care, daily attention, and abundant water. The proximity to the sea posed an ongoing challenge: salt-laden air scorched the youngest leaves, while the rocky soil made it difficult for roots to take hold and grow. It was precisely through these early challenges that the character of Miramare was shaped rooted in patience, dedication, and a deep love for nature.

In 1990, the first masonry buildings began to take shape, born from the desire to welcome guests into warmer, more authentic, and more comfortable spaces. The studio apartments were built according to bio construction principles, using blocks of calcarenite, commonly and incorrectly referred to as “tuff”, chosen for their natural connection to the land and their ability to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Year after year, love and dedication to Miramare’s green spaces gave rise to lush vegetation, blooming gardens, and a harmonious balance between architecture and nature an atmosphere that can still be felt in every corner today.

In 2010, the campsite having already been scaled back for some time definitively gives way to a new identity: Miramare becomes a Residence. This transformation marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another, more thoughtful and harmonious one. The park, lovingly cared for and enriched over the years with lush, typically Mediterranean vegetation, finally reaches its full maturity. Today, Miramare reveals itself in its most authentic beauty, shaped by time, dedication, and a deep bond with the surrounding nature.
